What is up with CGA? Seriously. He seems to be mucking up the offense 2 years in a row. He keeps grasping for the hot hand at QB. He cannot develop or be patient with the development of a QB. What does he want? Does CGA want a Utah Stater stud QB like Chuckie Keeton who probably would have been a "MEH" QB if he were to play in the pac-12? CGA is definitely impatient.
Hand the ball off to Nall, develop McMaryion and work on that O-line. Blount and/or Utah Stater #10 will keep getting injured. Those run option QBs who cannot pass with suspect blockers will get jacked up....Blount and Utah Stater #10 do not even have D1 Pac-12 bodies. If Coach Utah Stater wants a QB that runs the ball 100% of the time, he should have kept Seth Collins at QB and "develop" the kid as a passer. What a joke. Utah Stater #10 (Garretson) is not a good passer. Period. McMaryion can move in the pocket AND he is the best passer on the team. Mark is not the greatest but can the CGA and coaches develop the guy? ....IF the coaches know how to...........coach?! At this point, just run Nall if he's healthy.
CGA is gripping badly on the offensive side of the ball. He should get an above average OC for pete's sake and let him drive. F THE RUN OPTION. With this mess of a roster, the offense is looking like a run option HS team especially if Utah Stater #10 is playing. THIS IS NOT UTAH STATE. Believe it or not, the Beavs are a PAC-12 team.
CGA SHOULD HAVE DONE A BETTER JOB ASSESSING PLAYERS HE INHERITED AND DEVELOP AN OFFENSE AND DEFENSE THAT BRINGS OUT OF THE BEST OF THOSE PLAYERS. HE SHOULD NOT HAVE TORN THE BANDAID OFF AND ALIENATE SOME PLAYERS. Hybrid WCO would have been nice on offense.
Actually, CGA ought to focus on the D (ONLY) because, boy. That D is turrible. As CGA has said, the D is trying hard BUT they are turrible.
However, there are improvements. But, the QB carousel is all on CGA. Generally, watching the defense getting gashed by Stanford makes me wonder if CGA can weather the storm in Corvallis.
CGA is NOT a guru on either side of the ball. He probably gives a good pep talk or pregame speech.......I envision him motivating the players. He gives a great confident interview to the press. He seems to slide by those interviews. Confidently accepting blame.......and indirectly placing blame on the players. I just hope someone is teaching the kids some basic things.
Playing 2 QBs again this year makes me wonder if CGA has bitten off more than he can chew. I'm getting frustrated with his STUBBORN attitude. McMaryion is a no-go with CGA it seems. It sure looks like CGA is a Utah Stater kinda guy.
Obviously, the Beavs have no next level players on the team at this time ........especially the WRS. Can they catch the ball?
No way would his coaching fly in Madison if he were to continue coaching Wisco.
CGA is building a hot mess on offense with no direction or identity. He's not recruiting well. If there's little improvement next year, he'll lose the team. This gungho show of his will wear on his players if they don't win games.
AND CAN COACH ANDERSEN (CGA) RECRUIT PLAYERS THAT WILL QUALIFY ..........ON TIME? ALSO, CAN CGA RECRUIT PLAYERS THAT WILL DELAY THEIR MORMON MISSIONS? IF NOT, DON'T RECRUIT THEM. BEAVS NEED HELP, NOW. WE'RE NOT THE Y (BYU) OR UTAH.............OR, UTAH STATE! WE NEED IMPACT PLAYERS, NOW. OK, we rarely get impact players. How about players that can be coached up to contribute in a few years?.............if the coaches can actually coach.
Sorry if I call him Coach Utah Stater. He's starting to look like a coach that is best fit to coach teams like his beloved Utah State Aggies.
He MUST know what he's doing, right?! I just wonder is all, especially when he goes with two QBs, again. AND CGA ought to be a little more inventive when Seth Collins is behind center. What a f'n joke that wildcat is...........soooooooooo predictable.
I seriously don't know what Coach Andersen is doing, especially on OFFENSE.
Gawd. We're waiting for that pinnacle year under CGA. Coach Andersen's 6-6 year by 2018-2019. And no. I don't want "compare" with Washington State or Colorado. F that. Just get it done and do an even better job.
If Andersen drags the program down into the DARK AGES (AGAIN), can him and bring in JONATHAN SMITH as HC by the 2019-2020 season. BRING 9ER BACK HOME!!! HE KNOWS HOW TO DEVELOP QBs. At least he'll have some familiarity with the program and knows what it takes to bring home a Fiesta Bowl trophy to Corvallis.
I hope I'm wrong with CGA. I really do. He must know wht he's doing, right?!
