Goal line defense requires effort. You have go give 110% if you want to keep them out of the endzone. 2 week in a row the D has done just that. And late in the game when they were wore down, and we needed it to give us a chance.
a bright spot

The "bright spot" is next season when the cream starts to rise the top on this football team. There are some guys still playing right now (because of injuries) that should not be playing! The young OLB group will be really good! The young DL will develop and get better (as a unit) but the most important need is a consistent passer. With an "average" QB this season we are probably at least 7-5. That sucks that we are not there yet, but will be very soon!
Go Beavs!

Could I give a shout out to Mr. Hungalu?
Not the biggest or fastest guy out there, but he is usually always in the right spot. And he certainly was tonight.
That's good football.

I've never said McM is our QB of the future, but he is the future for this year and IF we had ANY kind of OL play he'd be fine. IF he'd been the #1 beginning last year he'd have better chemistry with the receivers and Seth would be a bigger offensive threat. I can give the defense a "pass" with injuries and youth as I think they are in much better coaching hands than the offense. But, this BS that GA has zero input in the offense is just that... BS. The folly of who he has hired and the lack of player evaluation and development falls directly on his shoulders. He is the HC. He is responsible. He has the key input. You do not win in the Pac12 without an offense... period. He best figure that out quickly or this will soon be a train that no one wants to board.

There is really nothing in your post that can be... but, anyone who thinks this team could be 7-5 is a little misguided and certainly their comments are far from the level of being taken as personal. Humorous. But, really nothing more.

I start out a general post by saying a bunch of general things that could happen to make us better (one of those saying that we need "average" play from a QB) and you respond with: "I've never said McM is our QB of the future"....! WTF is that?! That's not a statement taken personally? Ha, man, you're truly off your rocker! And if you believe that average QB play would not have gotten us past enough teams this entire season to eventually win 7 games (including the last two), well, that's your prerogative but I would disagree! With our running game and an average QB along with how the defense played (with inconsistent QB play and offense) I don't know how we don't win 7 games! Go Beavs!

He can't even go a few sentences before losing control and trying to dig back into something negative on CA. So sad...and so easy to spot. The team is continuing to get better. Period. And will continue to improve big time, next year under Coach Andersen. The Beavs are getting better....Might as well pull that lump of coal out and get used to it baseba1111.

One thing I must give to CGA (who will "Make Oregon State Great Again") is that they play hard on both sides of the ball. Wait. Villy makes me wonder, though, but, in aggregate, they play balls out. Good play or bad, they are trying. I like that. But, c'mon. 7 wins? 5. Maybe 6 with a good QB. But, 7? I did not know that the Pac is having a down year. I was originally thinking 2 to 4Ws....or less. So, 5-6Ws with a good/great QB COACH AND/OR OC............preferably without CGA's hands on that side of the ball. Really, with the injuries and/or inexperience on defense, against good teams, that D has and will get run over and over and over, again. Maybe next year we get 7. Maybe not. But, that defense can't stop the run......just like CAL and Oregon. OK. Throw me some #s to refute me...I don't care, but, that's what it looks like whenever I turn on the tube for some Beaver football. So, CGA better put on his defensive guru hat, teach and develop the D(healthy with 1 year under their belts) for next year.......Granted. CGA has Four More Years. He can do it, I think. He was awesome at Utah State, I read........that Big Sky or Mountain West power?....I forget. But, I'll take McMaryion as of now. He just throws a better ball. Let him get some reps. That timing. That OL ain't the greatest and Nall was absent........this sUCLA team less Josh Rosen and a host of others suck this year. I'd stick with McMaryion. Just let the kid finish out the year. Learn. Get him some reps. Season's almost over, anyways. Can CGA recruit? He better. And I'm actually looking forward to some Tinkle time, anyways. So, beat UA and the yucks and I'm good. ..........but, please just stick with McMaryion for the final games.............and bubble wrap Nall til the Civil War. Hey. Maybe that kid from Napa will be good at QB. Aidan Willard. Maybe not.

we're in good hands defensively!! but offense is still a disaster. and how true it is that if we had a QB who could pass effectively we could have done pretty well this year! I just hope the JC guy isn't an interception machine. I think McM is gone and Garretson should be a back-up as he more than proved he can't throw the ball in Pac12.

Maybe that kid from Napa will be good at QB. Aidan Willard. Maybe not. It's a complete subjective statement (7 wins with average QB play all season) I get that. You have the right to disagree and have stated your case. There's no way I could say "this is exactly how things 'would' have gone with an 'average' QB" but to me the QB play has been sub par all season. I look back at the Minnesota game where DG played pretty well for a few quarters and then he was pretty shaky towards the end. To me, with average QB play (being able to hit some receivers in stride-some of the time in that game and perhaps a better job in the read option game) who knows?! BSU was good and they took it to us on defense early but it took a spark from Blount who came in and the offense started to elevate it's a play and really, the Beavs dominated the second half in every way and ended up losing be what...12 points? Utah, Washington State, UCLA... all games within reach but the lack of offense and inability to throw the ball downfield (consistently) has hurt the Beavs all season! We could; would, could, should this thing to death but none of could say what would happen for sure?! I think we can agree that the QB play was been sub par the whole year though?! At least I believe it has and that has had a big effect on the team's overall performance in games this season IMO. Go Beavs!

He generally takes all my posts and twists them to make no point. "Comparing 1996 to this season"... "this is a 7 win team with an average QB"... are some of his best so far. But ya notice the author and just read with lots of "salt".
