Where would Wazzu be if they'd fired Leach after those first three years? Where OSU is and is headed until we get rid of our Paul Wulf

There was never ever a hint or chance of that. Moos loves the guy and did a huge sale job to get Leach... never a prayer he was getting fired. PS- Leach is a genesis... a football guru with a fantastic scheme and sticks to it. So, I hope your post had no implications toward OSU and GAG... cuz there is absolutely zero correlation. Direct correlation. Fans wanted Leach gone. Fans wanted McIntyre gone. Fans want Andersen gone. You forgot "fans wanted Riley gone"

Direct correlation. Fans wanted Leach gone. Fans wanted McIntyre gone. Fans want Andersen gone. Fans wanted Leach gone? Which fans? Wazzu fans. You must not remember the debacle that was their bowl game in the middle of those losing seasons - where they literally handed away the game against Colorado State. Or the home game against Colorado in 2012 - an awful Colorado team - where they gave up 21 points late in the 4th to lose. Things were not always so rosey for Leach.

Every day is rosy for him... And, Leach was never ever in trouble at WSU. Whatever game or fan group you want to bring up was an extreme minority. Moos, most every knowledgeable fan, and the admin there knew exactly what Leach accepted... maybe the worst D1/P5 job in the country at that time.

Come on! You don't think that last year, after starting the year with ANOTHER home loss to a Big Sky team, that more than extreme minority was thinking he wasn't the guy to turn it around? Really? Be honest.

Be honest. He was coming off a 9 win season capped with a bowl win over Miami. Any fans who wanted him gone because of an OOC loss to anyone were idiots. Every fan base has idiots.

This morning I feel like other PAC teams’ fans must have felt when the Beavs would upset the Trojans. Back when we were competitive

Where would Wazzu be if they'd fired Leach after those first three years? Yes, it took Leach well into his 3rd season to start even making any real significant progress. Might point out that WSU really took the big jump after they fired their previous DC and hired Alex Grinch. Completely different defense up in the Palouse now. Fast and attacking. Personally, I think we would be very well served to find a more progressive DC like Grinch. Too many red flags around Clune's defense and his use of our personnel. But to Clune's defense, we're still awfully thin in so many areas and playing alot of new guys .. and the few veterans that we do have aren't playing as well as some of our new guys. But I'm still bullish on our chances of improving mightily in the 2nd half of the season here. But for the next few games, things could get pretty ugly.

Leach fired Breske in 2014 (season 3) and hired Grinch. Breske averaged giving up 38.6 ppg in 2014, a TD more than Oregon State. Leach hired Grinch. In 2015, Washington State gave up 27.7 ppg. In 2016, Washington State gave up 26.4 ppg. Grinch has something of an impressive pedigree. He is Gary Pinkel's nephew and coached under Pinkel, then Chip Kelly at New Hampshire, and Pinkel again.

But for the next few games, things could get pretty ugly. Sorry, but I can’t be bullish on this coaching staff. Too many fubar decisions, too many snafu results. Under this coach and staff, the Beavs can’t win another game this season. I would be happy to be proved wrong, but the results so far this season do not bode well.

Congrats Cougs, awesome game and awesome win.
I've always liked Leach, he was a great listen when he had his radio show before taking WSU job. I remember some here thought he could never turn around WSU. I doubt he's ever going to win a Pac 12 championship, who knows, maybe he will, but he sure has them in the running, which is quite the accomplishment.
