Enough drama around here to last years. No need to invite more.

I am obviously in the minority, but I think he would be a good hire. Knows the Pac, knows Cali, good offensive mind.

I spent too many years rooting against that guy. It started when he was qb at fUCLA. I'm afraid it may be in my DNA to root for him to fail. NO!! PLEASE NO!!
Go Beavs!!

Neweasal is a cheater. If you ain't cheating you ain't trying. Bet your arse even Saint Mike cheated. He was just smart enough not to get caught.
Hire the Weasel on a year to year deal with being able to escape the ncaa part of the deal.

I am obviously in the minority, but I think he would be a good hire. Knows the Pac, knows Cali, good offensive mind. You're not a minority of one. My first choice would be Coach Hall. I could see my second choice as the Wease. My thoughts are: - it's do or die for him as a coach and he would look at OSU as a stepping stone. He jumps in with both feet. After 2-3 years with an obvious change in sight, and the Beavs looking good, coach RN accepts a huge offer from one of the top 10 football powers, leaving no scandal behind. The Reser completion is under way and the Beavs have a good pool of good coaches to choose from. All is well in Beaverville.

Slick Rick isn't our guy. Too much baggage. Besides he failed at UCLA which has many advantages over OSU. The only positive I see to hiring him is to have duck fans freak out. He is a much better tv analyst than coach.

He is absolutely a better choice and far more qualified than Coach Hall. He has been a very successful head football coach in the past and I bet he has learned a lot in the years since he and UCLA parted ways. He knows the Pac-12 and he has always been a good recruiter and if he is interested in the job then I think he is worth an interview. I will leave it up to our AD to make the right choice.

For all the supposed advantages UCLA and ASU have, they have apparently underachieved under every coach for the past 20-25 years or so. I’m starting to wonder if the terms “advantage” and “distraction” are synonymous

Only good things can come from well known coaches openly expressing interest in the OSU job. I can't imagine a better endorsement.
This really is a great job for many reasons. There's no doubt it's harder to recruit here than at a blue blood program, however for seasoned coaches who aren't chasing the buck, or an NC and just want to coach because they love coaching, this is a GREAT job. In comparison to a blue blood program the comparable lack of pressure, microscopic spotlight, and nagging media are all attractive benefits OSU can offer. Come here and win 6-7 games and you're a hero for a while.
Heck come here and field teams who look competent and you'll be praised. There are many who want to hire Hall full time for two close losses. This is not the pressure cooker many other jobs are and that should be a major attraction for a seasoned coach who's just looking to coach.

I lived in Denver when he was coaching Colorado and there always seemed something a bit slimy about him and he was always a big complainer. But he has had some success. I would much prefer someone who hasn't been out of coaching for 6 or 7 years, so he wouldn't be my first choice. But we could do worse. I think it comes down to what types of candidates we have.
