I'd keep Willard. He's an Oregon State guy. His parents are alums. As stated earlier, this IS his dream school.
I am no expert. I saw him play as a Jr. He's good. Arm strength not great but serviceable. It's not Petras good, but, it's good. He ran a lot when I saw him play. He might be OK. Solid.
I have hope for him because he will be a RS freshman, right? So, he hasn't been tainted by CGA. He can be coached up.

Luton and Dukart and this guy Samuels line up and throw balls down the field. One of them is not like the others. It's this guy. He just doesn't have the arm.
Hopefully Jonathan Smith just wants the best QB out there and knows which one it is.

Sorry, not knowable. I have no reason to believe he won't be great. Tongue in cheek(kind of) any QB the previous staff had a hand in add a bit of concern....lol. Looks like a fine young prospect, wouldn't go so far as to claim he's on par or better than Gebbia/O'brien just yet. I do like his size, dependent upon what our offense will look like. You know for a fact that Gebbia and O'Brien [two QBs?] are transferring or is this speculation? Nothing specific just total speculation. I do know when the rumors of MR getting let go started to gain steam Gebbia's dad made some public statements in strong support of MR and how it would be a mistake if here were not retained. Given that and the Gebbia's fit in a Frost offense it would seem plausible there's a chance if MR ends up on staff here.

I sort of figured one reason Blount didn't want to play this season was so he would have the option to transfer to an FCS school and play 3 years (or go the JC==>FBS route like Luton did). I don't think the redshirting is an indication he's locked in at OSU. Just my take. Did you have a problem with Blount not stepping in when asked? I did. Well, I don't know that it was reported that he refused to step in, or that he was asked, but I know it was stated that HE didn't want to burn his redshirt. If he actually refused to play when asked, then yeah, I'd have a problem with that. Then again, I could see a situation where he told the coaches he intended to quit OSU and go the FCS route after the season and the coaches agreed to that. With that set, they could relegate Blount to scout-team reps and give the legit reps to other QBs on the roster. SaveSave

Are we not supposed to have been getting another mystery grad transfer this next term?

Are we not supposed to have been getting another mystery grad transfer this next term? I believe our resident June Jones fan suggested a kid (his son, maybe?) who started his college career at SMU and was now at Sac State was coming in. I believe the kid's name was Cassel (that was the guy who fit the criteria - the name was never actually mentioned by said poster). Perhaps plans have changed since Mr Jones did not get the HC gig.
