Are ya kidding me?? Brandon Cooks got laid the eff out by a clear helmet to helmet hit, and the defender was LEADING with his helmet! Although terrible that Cooks is out and I hope he's ok... It's football, people get hurt... In my opinion, the targeting penalty is ruining college football... Even if it was a penalty in the nfl, it would not have made a difference on that play, in this game... If all of football doesn't get on top of CTE football will lose the feeder programs. Pee wee/High school as Mom & Dad pull their kids for chess & robotics programs* exaggeration but work with me CFB is moving in the right direction. It's going to take a fair amount of time to change behaviors of going in high I also hate the NFL overtime. CFB is right on that too

Love Cooks, but it wasn’t targeting, wasn’t a violation of the rules, and the player shouldn’t have been ejected. If you want to argue changing the rules, I’m all ear(holes).

If Tom Brady got laid out the flag would have been pulled out Too true.... I'm currently keeping track of the penalties called... So far it's Penalties against the two teams so far: Eagles: 4 Patriots: 1 Major Missed penalty calls: 2 (helmet to helmet and PI Call) The NFL refs are doing "such" a good job 🙄 I’m counting my extra beer cans! Much more relaxing.

Linemen hit helmet to helmet on every stinking play. You’ll never be able to convince me that the Eagles guy wanted to hit cooks in the helmet. As fast and as shifty as he is, he’s almost an impossible guy to hit where you’re aiming, even if he doesn’t know you’re coming.
I feel terrible for Brandin, but I don’t think that was a targeted hit.

JMHO, but Cooks was smoked even without the helmet contact. The defender didn't lead with the helmet as I saw it anyway. And running backs, which is the important point and Cooks became on the play, lead with their helmet on nearly every rush. Tough to take that out of the game

Sudden death is FAR superior to Kansas plan. Ties are superior to Kansas plan. Honestly, stats from College OT should not count, as the value of TDs are diminished due to the ease with which they are obtained. College OT is like hybrid baseball/football.

You probably are going for a trifecta. Ban the Designated Hitter! NFL OT...coin toss winner wins. CFB OT...equal shot I will give you the stats argument in the interest of BiPartinship and reach (around) the aisle

The difference in G-forces between guys leaning into each other from 3 feet and a standing position and a guided missile flying up from 10 yards is enormous. It’s pointless to argue about this. It happened, and they called it like they called (or didn’t) it. I’ll just respectfully disagree with you and leave it at that.

We don't know the extent of Cook's head injury. From the head to head blow he took and the temporary loss of consciousness, would indicate a concussion at least. .
The NFL is lax on targeting. They want to distance themselves from any part of targeting, concussion or head injury. The numerous studies regarding impaired brain function resulting from blows to the head, CTE and neurological damage are damaging to the league and represent a serious issue for the game itself.
As a percentage of athletic participation, survey data indicates fewer kids are playing football now - Soccer, Lacrosse and other fall athletics are increasing. More parents are now weighing the risk involved.

Football/NFL is the big ticket and grabs the headlines, but more concussions in happen in girls/ women's ice hockey by over double the occurrence factor. Also soccer causes the most severe concussions and the highest rate by far of participants not realizing they are injured. Depending on where you look soccer is at or near the same amount of concussions. Overall hoops causes more injuries overall to HS athletes.

i am never going to believe that women's soccer does more damage to brains than football. Just forget about that one. It's silly.

People often don't believe the truth, even with numerous studies and evidence. It happens all the time... believe what you want, it doesn't change the truth. It is exactly that line of thinking is why abominations like Larry Nassar are allowed to perpetuate their crimes.
