if you include the picks as completions, because they are caught....Moore only missed like 3-4 passes all game. And some how OSU still had a chance to win that game.

True, he threw almost as many TDs as ints. He was Killing us and Thrilling us all at once. Amazing.
Mike Stoops burned Willie Tuitama's redshirt the previous game and Tuitama was making his first-ever start. Tuitama went 13/22 for 335 yards and two touchdowns, a 217.0 rating. Pac-10 Freshman Player of the Year Mike Thomas had four receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown.
Moore threw four first half interceptions, including a pick-6 to future Super Bowl Champion Michael Johnson to dig a 23-10 first half hole. Moore settled down in the second half to lead Oregon State on three scoring drives to pull within 29-27. However, each of the next three drives ended in Moore turnovers: a fumble at the Arizona 24, an interception, and an interception to end the game.
Bernard finished with 192 yards on 35 carries and two touchdowns. Mike Hass ended with 11 receptions for 190 yards en route to the Biletnikoff.
Matt Moore finished 32/43 for 436 yards, one touchdown, and six interceptions. He ran nine times for 26 yards with a fumble on the lone sack. The 462 total yards ranked second at the time in total yards in Oregon State history, only 18 yards behind Erik Wilhelm's 480-yard performance against Akron. It remained the most total yards against a Pac-10/12 opponent until Sean Mannion's 487-yard performance against Washington State in 2013. Only 5 of Moore's the 43 passes hit the turf. What is crazy is that Moore only had six interceptions the entire 2006 regular season in 324 passes, including 182 consecutive passes without an interception between Arizona and Missouri. Arizona was the only team to be able to intercept Moore more than once in 2006.
You forget Wilhelmina great game in PDX against Ucla. We were shut out and slaughtered and gained over Four Hundred Yards. One of my better Beaver memories during Kragthorpes Reign. I was embarrassed to bring a friend who was a Husky Fan.

props to beaverzuff for being right this time. Wilky next time dont answer me if i am wrong. Just stay out of it.
In my defense Matt Moore did throw 3 interceptions in 2005 against Arizona State. Luton is pretty cautious with the ball, comparatively, that is a mature quality in your qb. Incompletes beat interceptions by a mile.

Fun fact. Matt Moore's 2006 game against Arizona State is the second-highest rated QBR game in Oregon State history behind Marcus McMaryion's 2016 game against Arizona.

also, a game the beavs lost handily. which means QBR means little to winning.

2006. Oregon State won 44-10. Moore had three interceptions in 2005, which is what you were referencing, I think. 42-10 into the fourth quarter before Oregon State added two window-dressing touchdowns to pull within 18 at the gun.

2005 correct. 2006 Moore "morphed" from an interception machine into a clutch master td throwing duck slaying Beaver legend!

After 5 games in 2006, the Beavers were 2-3, with losses to Boise State, Cal, and WSU. Matt Moore had thrown only 4 TDs (and 3 INTs) in those first 5 games. His completion percentage was low, as was his QBR. With the backup QB always being the most popular guy on the team, some fans were adamantly calling for Moore to be benched and Sean Canfield ("the future") to be the starter, since Moore was in his last year and clearly was never going to amount to anything. This is about when the CANFIELD/CAN RILEY signs started to show up. I remember a guy calling one of the post-game call-in shows to complain that Riley (he called him "Mr. Nice Guy") needed to man up and pick a QB. Jim Wilson responded, "Mr. Nice Guy has already picked a QB, you just don't agree with him".
Matt Moore and the Beavers went on from there to win 8 of the next 9 games, including a 39-38 win over Missouri in the Sun Bowl. I've always been glad that fans don't get to vote on who should be playing. Alexis Serna never would have seen the field again after LSU. Matt Moore would have been sent back to UCLA (or whoever would have taken him). Derek Anderson wouldn't have survived his first few multi-interception games. I sort of like leaving roster decisions up to the coaches.

It's similar to the UW-Cal game last year. Peterson finally benched Browning for a series, and the backup promptly threw the pick-6 that cost UW the win.
Not long after he was done at OSU I asked Mike Hass who was a better QB Moore or Canfield and he said "if Canfield was playing QB my career would have been over". That was enough for me to be on board with Moore for all of '06 even when it started out dicey. Like nabeav I also had an affinity for the UW game when the Canfield stans got their wish, only to see Canfield flame and Moore save the day. When Moore came down to the endzone in front of the Beaver fans after a score those same guys calling for his head earlier in the game were tripping over their dicks to sing his praises. I liked Matt Moore.

That interesting because Hass never played with Canfield. Mike played from 2002-05. Canfield redshirted in 2005, then played from 2006-09.
I supposed MH saw Canfield as a true freshman on the scout team (Gunderson was the backup QB). But obviously Canfield got much better and sure completed a lot of passes, to a lot of receivers.
"The shortstop is the source of stillness at the center of the defense. He projects this stillness and teammates respond."

f acts are facts but that's a heavy dog on targ. Are you saying Hass never said such a thing? It seems he would not have, given your assemblage of the facts.
