There is a typical "eugeneian", suppose you tailgate in penny loafers/slacks??
"plenty of evidence"... "want Riley back"... "Ted Miller"...
So, first, you realize that using Ted as any sort of evidence loses you any credibility... ZIP zero zilch... That is a laugh... Ted Miller being anything more than a TMZ sports writer. I suppose you like the "bald faced truth"? LMAO
I guess there is invisible ink... scanned all the posts... could not find anyone asking for Riley to come back???
Recruiting evidence... lets see you pull out all the great recruiting Andersen has done and the how those players have turned out??? The ONLY sample of a complete recruiting cycle was at USU... not exactly a a great conference and I believe you'll be disappointed at the recruiting numbers (like those mean a thing... the entire point of my post) while there...
Per Rivals... GA's recruiting 2008 #10 in MWC (not sure if this was his class or transition year) 2009 #11 in MWC 2010 #12 in MWC 2011 #6 in MWC... highest star average thus far... 2.32 2012 #11 in MWC 2013 #13 in Big 10 (transition) 2014 #6 in Big 10... highest star average as HC... 2.88 2015 #12 in Pac12 (transition) 2016 #8 in Pac12
Wisky transition class and newest class are both in the 3's with Chryst... same with Riley's classes...
So, GA has recruited exactly (7) 4* types in his HC career... signed (5)... all at Wisky... most of his success came with 2*/3* kids and building from there at USU
Next?

"Typical of older PO users... they typically do not read the actual posts for what they say, interpret them in terms of how they fit their opinions, then spout some nonsense unrelated to the thread... usually a personal attack and the thread morfs into immature babble.
So, excuse me if I'd rather not have that on this forum. "
Interesting... you'd rather not have that on this forum, yet you are one of main instigators of such attacks. I don't recall you from PO, but you certainly fit the stereotype that you portray of PO.
Regarding recruiting. No way in hell I am going to look up all the info. The recruiting goes FAR beyond what Andersen has done. Assistants play a far bigger role in recruiting none of which you're taking into account. So if you want to look at what all the assistants did at previous schools and compile go for it. I would be curious to see. However, Simply put the staff GA has put together, IMO is a far superior staff in terms of recruiting than what Riley and Co did here. Once again, just my personal opinion, but the kids he is getting to commit are kids that have other offers from other "power 5 schools" and far more 5-4* kids are showing interest and taking visits compared to Riley and Co. Maybe 2-3 years from now we'll look back and the recruiting will suck and we'll be 2-10 with no changes. However, I don't see that. This year sucks. GA has made a lot of mistakes he probably wishes he could change. But IMO the future with GA and Co is far brighter and more positive than it was with Riley at helm.

I am sorry...?
Regarding the Wisconsin paper (not papers as in multiple) if you bothered to read the comments many fans were mocking the author stating now just months ago he was praising UW for the hire and what a great coach GA was. Sounds like the guy writes things to get attention. Also, he never said GA was a bad coach in the article. He simply stated that he wasn't a good fit for UW. Which I think GA would agree with and why he left.
Well if you want to split hairs about the "papers," I can split hairs about the "many" fans.....seemed like one guy really doing most of the Pro-Andersen comments. And you're right, he's not a bad coach. He just was a bad fit because of the offense he wanted to run and the lack of in-state recruiting he did. Time will tell if he's the right fit here.

"dust up"... I guess if pointing out facts to those who blatantly talk out of their arse and claim it is a fact guess so....

Ah EUGENE... you can spout it but heck with it being fact... back track much.... You were speaking of GA and Riley specifically... their staff might do a lot of the work, but it is their team. If you want to split hairs then why go to the spread here when the personnel to run the same offense as with Ludwig was already here??? You can search out a bball post of mine but not the facts about recruiting? It took like 2 minutes...
As far as "seeing that"... you've never read a post I think GA sux or he will not learn and turn this around... I do not pretend to foretell the future. I try to keep it in the here and now. I try to comment/dispute those who want to gloss over what is being shown right now this second and lay the blame anywhere but at the feet of this staff... Riley, Nebraska, etc should not even be of concern. This is GA's mess, period. Just as you and others want to praise there has been ZERO evidence of growth/direction this year... and no matter the talent discrepancy a lot keep blaming on Riley/staff, there should be evidence of individual/team growth and development... there has been almost none visible.
I guess "eugeneian... tailgate in penny loafers/slacks" are personal... more sarcastic to me , but ok... I was more referring to words such as "idiot" "moron"...

Nobody uses Scout rankings...nobody. Stop. Rivals is the largest subscription recruiting site. Scout is a fairly close second, although after being sold by Fox it has lagged. 247 is the new kid on the block gaining ground. Both have their pros and cons. the ongoing con with Scout is the fact that at any given time they only rocked 15 or so analysts. that isn't that many considering the millions of high school players in the world. and Rivals is pretty well known to have an extensive and extreme SEC bias. SEC recruits get bumps and other recruits, particularly those going to mid-west schools are almost universally lower ranked. this is not a secret, and pretty well talked about in other places. In the end, these are all guess by over worked and underpaid people. But the point remains. there ARE three major publicly available sites to get information from. Rivals, Scout and 247. 2 of 3 have Nebraska ranked very similarly and ahead of Oregon State. Listen, I have two degrees from Oregon State, I was going to games when we were losing to the Montana's of the world. I have deep loyalty to my school. But I do not have orange color glasses. Our recruiting is not magically better with CGA... yet. in fact, it is exactly average and about exactly what Riley was doing. so far. Of course it all remains to be seen, but I stand by it... you have to be pulling some pretty strong mental gymnastics to think OSU is ahead of Nebraska right now. tl; dr Nobody uses Scout.

Agreed... never saw the field except special teams before he was banged up??? Same with Lucas... until recently I was wondering why we didn't RS him. Actually still wonder why??? 20/20 hindsight now, but unless a true frosh is starting/best player at a position or you're not deep, why burn a years for snaps here and there?

There was a mention by Coach A (or one of the other coaches) earlier in the season that he hadn't quite caught on to the offense yet at the time.
Academically he's apparently a smart kid, and he's certainly a powerful athlete, but if he's not yet making the choices the coaches are looking for I could see that affecting playing time... if that's the case I hope it all comes into place for him. I'd like to see more of him. I do think his hamstring/quad issues have slowed him down both this season and last.
