Agreed... never saw the field except special teams before he was banged up??? Same with Lucas... until recently I was wondering why we didn't RS him. Actually still wonder why??? 20/20 hindsight now, but unless a true frosh is starting/best player at a position or you're not deep, why burn a years for snaps here and there? I actually agree with you about something... Could not agree more about Lucas. He really should have been red shirted. However I am willing to bet that in August when the decision was made to play him, the coaching staff envisioned having an offense that was putting up points, putting up yards, playing fast, etc. IIRC after I believe the Michigan game Andersen was asked about Lucas and he said something to the affect of they had plays in for him, but the offense couldn't stay on the field long enough.

Yeah it does, you had to make up a dissertation of how many degrees you have from OSU in comparing Rivals vs Scout rankings.

pair up Lucas and Nall, Haskins and Collins. Every series rotate backs to keep them fresh. By the 4th Q we will have 400 yds rushing and worn the opponent down

I see both sides of this. Sure, if you are going to basically not contribute, why burn the year? but the injury insurance is nice too! I tell you one thing it sure is nice when something like Isaac's foot comes up and a player has a year available to heal. I dunno, I guess if you are good enough to play, then just play and maybe don't worry to much about it. I think having a RS year in your pocket is a good thing.

So apparently reading and comprehending the written word is difficult for you... Listen, this has been a blast but I am calling it. I am done with you. this is not a debate, or even an argument. This is me providing an opinion with defense of an opinion and you giving flippant dismissals and personal attack. You do not refute and respond with your own facts or points, you just mock and dismiss. You are a content-less troll, and as every grandpa on earth likes to say "Never wrestle with a pig, you both get dirty and the pig likes it." So congratulations, you won. I am pretty sure your fragile ego needs it far more than me.

There was a mention by Coach A (or one of the other coaches) earlier in the season that he hadn't quite caught on to the offense yet at the time. Academically he's apparently a smart kid, and he's certainly a powerful athlete, but if he's not yet making the choices the coaches are looking for I could see that affecting playing time... if that's the case I hope it all comes into place for him. I'd like to see more of him. I do think his hamstring/quad issues have slowed him down both this season and last. Pretty sure it was RB coach Telly Lockette who made that statement, about one or two games into the season. Don't remember Haskins getting carries at all early on. Chris Brown was getting some until he got hurt. Then both those guys got hurt, Storm was touch and go, and we started seeing Nall finally. Very frustrating year for those of us who were hoping to see a multiple running backs running game this year. We certainly got to see a lot of different running backs--but not exactly the way we had hoped.

Lots of things frustrate me about this year, but i think our failures in the running game frustrate me the most. I was pretty confident we were going to be a team that ran it at least 45 times a game, averaged close to 200 or more rushing yards a game and would have 3 primary ball carriers that accounted for around 2,000 yards by season's end. I thought we would have a reasonable offense, but lose most games because of a young defense. I guess I was half right! Injuries, poor blocking and then having a QB that poses no passing threat ended hope of a strong running game. beh.

You'd be surprised at what other people may know on these boards. Like how Scout rankings are crapola. Or... how all rankings are crapola... most in the know do not give one shred on respect to recruiting rankings/the made up business of such as a spin off of the Mel Kipper (?) draft ranking started many moons ago. Talk to coaches/scouts... they go by WHAT they SEE/know and NEED for their program. If you want to see how much crapola it really is, look up how many 4/5* guys actually pan out versus lower "ranked" players... It's all fan based crapola from the get go... and fans who live for player/team recruiting rankings really have no life... it's all garbage. Let's see who actually signs. You'll never know from the coaches if they are truly ecstatic or disappointed in a class signing... they'll always praise their class and never openly lament those that got away. And... add the fact some will never make it academically it's all a crap shoot coaches hope to win more than 50% of the time. You'll never know how a class truly pans out until 3-5 years down the road. Ask any coach (yep been in that conversation) it truly about building QUALITY depth/promoting competition between highly skilled players... much of which is not measurable until you see a kid in your program/environment... not versus inferior HS competition or some staged camp setting. SO WHO CARES! lol
