I thought the game was in Columbus. It's called overconfidence. We got 'em right where we want 'em. Thought it was called attendance. 100,000 in the stands even for a game like this. We'd be lucky to get a third of that in Reser. More take home pay right there. It's better to get all the cash that we can for our suffering.

Actually, this is the perfect opener for the program at this time, with a new coach.
Expectations are clean swept. The basement has been reached. That's solid ground floor to push up from.
Beavs will be what? 36 point dogs?
Lose by only 3 touchdowns or so and consider that momentum for the rest of the season. There's no stars on this team so no worries about injuries. Just play. See how far away from being a competitive team you really are.

I'm sure there are PLENTY of macho morons out there that disagree with me. If "THEY" suit-up, I'll respect their disagreement. Suit me up. I don't know how a 50+ year old "kid" with bad knees who has lost 3-4 "steps" can contribute but I'm ready to give it a go. I wish I had the time/money to go to the game. They'd hear my support from the stands.....

There's no stars on this team so no worries about injuries. Classy. This isn't the NFL where the worst team gets the best draft pick. We need to not get embarrassed on national TV, AGAIN, and start winning games on the field and recruiting battles off of it. Opening @tosu is a worst case scenario.

Opening @tosu is a worst case scenario. worst case scenario would be skyrocket expectations, the season riding on one or two "star" players who have to stay healthy or the season is lost, and opening up on the road to a dangerous opponent and being favored. We all know how that scenario has turned out. This.. has the potential to not be all that bad. Others have mentioned it could be one of those games where you see find out who your gamers are who can play with Ohio st or anybody.

He was out of the game for a couple of years, maybe put on a few pounds, had a history of shoulder injuries, but the Thomas Tyner we saw last year was slow mo. Funny how the game deserts you so quickly, and not always for reasons of injury. Hope he's having fun fishing or whatever he's doing now.

He seems happy.

I don’t see much risk of the Beavers being embarrassed on national TV in this game. After last season everyone is probably expecting the game to be a 79-0 slaughter. Embarrassing would be going in thinking you are going to the Rose Bowl the next game, then losing 59-0 in front of a national audience... might even cause a coach to quit.

Do I ever remember that result! I bet those Badger fans do as well. Then again, we did spoil Wisconsin's day in Corvallis with Oregon taking out the Badger team which had Russell Wilson in the Rose Bowl. They must be getting tired of all things Oregonian and OSU-related in Cheeseland...LOL!

Frankly, I'll be happy if they don't do a Nichols State vs OSU.

We got em just where we want em....... I thought the game was in Columbus. No, the correct phrase is "they have us right where we want them". Worked for the baseball team

Worst case scenario would be pulling the plug on a game already on the books because you're afraid we won't compete or that we are too weak. Walking into Ohio Stadium with our heads held high and playing the best that we can has a tremendous amount of value. Learning HOW to lose with dignity and grace is far more important than running away from a big opponent or even winning all the time. Our Beavs have nothing to be ashamed of. Don't shame them because in your mind they don't stand up to the likes of the Buckeyes.

Seems like for the last few years losing with grace and dignity has become the norm, personally I'm pretty much sick of that attitude. Maybe Jonathan can right the ship but he has no chance without the athletic admins providing him the financial backing to compete on a level playing field. Barnes comments on spending are pure BS. Obviously there's a core group of fans who will attend no matter how poorly the Beavers play but 30K in the stands can't sustain the football program.

If we haven't learned how to lose with dignity and grace yet I don't know what one more demolition is going to do.
