Thx for the info. Anyone there in person? I'm also curious about the organizational structure and how efficient we are in getting players/plays in and out. Does there look to be confusion or communication issues, etc? Special Teams... any special teams play of significance? Kickoff depth, how the ball off the foot of the kicker/punter looked in terms of "pop"?? Tackling... supposedly a huge emphasis was on tackling and tackling angles, tackling in space... how does it look? I wasn't there but related to the organizational structure of the stadium/gameday experience, from what I gathered in the Twitter verse was there was no PA announcer calling out names of ball carriers/receivers etc. Which would be pretty on brand and doesn't exactly help us with an argument that we belong in a P4 conference. Yes, the reason we’re not in a P4 conference is the lack of a good PA announcer at the Spring Game. Lol

Was there - must admit, with it being a glorified scrimmage, no tackling of QB (for good reason), and no one going full on 100%, it ended up being more social for me than intently watching and analyzing the game. BG was in a boot, and a couple of other players on crutches. The defense seemed to play well, and Johnson showed flashes of being a good dual threat QB

It was as good of hitting as i have seen for a spring. The hits were crisp and infaticly brought down the offensive player quickly in most cases. Offense is a work in process. Not much to comment about. Qbs will need good legs because their passes will get blocked alot if they are scouted properly. They are short in height.

Tackling looked solid.
Hayes 55 yd attempt was barely wide.
QBs struggled to hit receivers but did well with TEs.
QBs ran (scrambled) a ton.
Great interviews with KHJ, Gundy, Riley, Devan, and Bray.

Also with as many new faces as there are one would think a PA announcer saying who made which play may help fans get to know the new look roster as well.

Niece had a surprise birthday party so we did not make it. What was Bill Oram all worked up about with the spring game? From what we saw on the tv side it showed okay.

I saw this article too and was gonna post it myself. Hard to argue with much here. I get that the Spring Game has never been much of a draw at OSU, but it was an opportunity to be more than it was and has been for sure. Fans need something to be excited about in the AD, not even the baseball team is giving us much as of late.

Not sure on attendance this year vs last - as I recall, the west side was still under construction? Also, we haven’t gone to every spring game - I can’t always remember what I had for breakfast, let alone attendance for last year - lol. Went to the west side open house last year, I think we skipped/ missed the spring game. Bill Oram? I have no idea!

I didn't need mimes, jugglers, guys being shot out of cannons and other circus acts to be entertained, nor did I expect them.

I'll say this, in the last several years I've been able to show up right at, or a little after, starting time and been able to park in the Reser lot with ease... lots of room for parking. Yesterday every parking space in the lot was full at a quarter til and there were lots of cars milling around looking for spots. The parking lots across 30th were full. We ended up heading west on Jefferson Way to park. In years past they had most everyone on the lower zone of the east side. Yesterday there were some over there, the lower deck of the west side was pretty busy, and the second deck (where we sat) had plenty of people in it. It was pretty spread out, but I thought there were substantially more fans this year. They could've done better with the PA situation and a post practice meet and greet on the field for fan interaction though.

We came late as well, parking lot full, except the spots in front of the Good Sam health clinic - threatening towing, permit required. Clinic closed, parked their anyway!
With all of the new places for people to walk/ mingle and congregate, it would be hard to compare actual numbers without counting as people entered. But, parking lot was surprisingly full! My son being with me was amazed at the number of attractive young ladies wandering about - one in particular that had a see through top - I must be old - he had to point it out to me - lol! We decided the higher number of ladies was the free admission!
