Of course it's the move to the WCC. And the inability of six players to see that WCC or not, they were better off and would go much further next year as a whole by sticking together than they will be as individuals by all leaving and going to different places. TVO was gone either way, and Martha just wasn't good enough. They made their beds, they can lie in them, it's their life. Let's see which one of them gets to within nine points of a Final Four next season. I agree with everything you say, but there is an underlying assumption in your position that what the players prioritized was tournament success with THIS team. From the outside looking in on where the players ended up, I think some players felt they might get more media exposure, NIL, move closer to family, PT, etc. and some of those issues might have been a higher priority for them. And the fact that not a one of them ended up on the same team as another tells me that team togetherness might have been less a consideration than we perceived it to be. I started to harvest the stats of the departed 8 with the thought of analyzing at the end of next season if they benefitted from the move, just to realize that analysis would present an incomplete picture: if all of them enriched their bank accounts but scored less is that good? If Lily could go home more often is that more valuable? If Rae's family could come to more games if that a win? If TvO picks up more followers on social media has she succeeded? I also realized that since none of them wear black and orange now I really don't care enough to analyze, only care enough to be saddened by pondering what could have been and will never be for OSU WBB. Go Beavers! Yes, players these days (as a whole) always put themselves and their own goals ahead of team goals.

I have no idea how Beers will do, but I thought it was an extremely weird choice by "her". The Sooners and their HC are very much up tempo and G/W oriented. I think they had 5 or 6 players shot over 130 three pointers last season. Their "posts", were (2) Frosh and a Soph... got about 300 total shots and averaged about 10 points between them.
It would be a drastic change for Coach Baranczyk to become a pound it in to the post offense emphasis. Especially when they return their entire roster and top 5-6 leading scorers... with (6) being Srs. It will be interesting. IF... I was a betting man Ms. Beers might not have it quite so good as she had it here... and another Portal move would not surprise me.

Aleah moves more than allied van lines. Maybe she's running Craig Robinson's offense?

Any thoughts on who replaces her? Time to bring Mic or Syd in…. Why would we bring in a former player that has no collegiate experience. At least Aleah had experience recruiting and seeing how Duke practiced from a coaching perspective. She did have off the court interactions with players. What do Mik or Syd bring other than name and familiarity with the system. Scott needs to bring in two coaches one that coach the wings and guards. And another coach who can be the defensive coach similar to what Jonas did at a very high level. Maybe a coach that has experience in the WCC or maybe a DII or DIII head coach that has a great fit.

I agree that it's a drastic change but it was a drastic change to add Beers, who IMO will easily be the best player on the team. And I think there's a good chance that the offense will be oriented around Beers while also not tending too far toward Rueck-type deliberate offense. Pretty sure they have a plan in place that will revolve around getting Beers the ball on offense.

And it hasn't even really veered off-topic all that much. Most of it has been talk about the players who have left. It's not as if it has devolved into an argument over the best national parks or something. Yet.

Something is f%#*ed up. She bolted in a lateral move after only one season. Unless she’ll make significantly more $$$$, this is another middle finger at the program. WHY does it bother some of you so personally, when others question SR and his program? I hate unfounded conspiracy theories, but something “ain’t” right. Moving from a WCC assistant position to a Big-10 assistant position isn't a "lateral" move. I would think that'd be self-evident.

She was a huge portal "get" but the Sooners are extremely athletic, and Beers will be facing some extremely athletic teams.

The only thing I care about Beers are they have to be cold and tasty. Beers the former Beaver don't care.

They did not have a player at Beers' level. Beers is one of the best players in the country. She was on the third-team All-America team, so the AP considered her to be a top 15 player nationally. There were no Oklahoma players on any of the three teams. The Sooners had one honorable mention. Beers was the best player on a team that made the Elite Eight. Oklahoma lost in the second round.

Beers fared pretty well when she played against them in the Tourney.
