I knew I would get criticism. No big deal. What I am always amazed about is the 'fans' that were, and remain in the adoration process. Would you want your next airplane flight to be handled by a pilot that is 50/50, or that is bad at making adjustments when things are going south ? In my mind, if you are not setting and achieving high standards - you will always be 'average' or less. Call me pathetic - I believe you need to look in the mirror yourselves. I also believe that when you have zero investment in seeing a program succeed, you are not credible as a critic or supporter. But, hey, I love seeing OSU get National acclaim for their educational and athletic programs - baseball is a shining example, as is our engineering and other academic programs. Scott Rueck is a shining example. Why can't we( I do ), expect better in the money making sports ? I guess - it's not important to the MR due hards. This is a business, and most of you are treating it like it's an 'expected' money pit that does not affect the University's image or financial standing. Are you willing to invest money in a loser program? Look at what is happening at Nebraska right now, your buddy has driven fans and boosters out of the stadium and that, more than anything, will be the reason he gets canned. That and his non caring, smiling, arms crossed posture on the sidelines. I will take Pat Casey any day. That guy built the program and he is passionate and strategic, and he wins in the toughest sport there is. He does it right - and he is always upgrading the team and the facilities. Need a new stadium or more seats - no problem, the fans are there and so are the donors. Try to finish the football stadium - what ? No fan support, no money ! Why ? Cause we keep accepting mediocrity. This next hire will be very important. If we don't get it right.... guess what will happen ? I don't even have to guess, I guarantee that my 4 season tickets , and my drive from Portland, and my other academic and athletic donations,( except for baseball and wbb ), are going to be replaced by something more fun and more interesting. Go ahead, blame and criticize... but, I put my money behind winners and seeing some progress. I am not willing to go through another 3-4 years of rebuilding. I cannot believe that 'some of you' would even consider riley coming back. That is embarrassing ! That's the dumbest analogy in the history of the interwebs.
You just compared college coaches, or all coaches, to an industry that wins 99.99% of the time. Guess what, 11 NFL coaches are going to lose today. How many airplanes do you think are going to crash? Then you jock Pat Casey? LOL, let me guess, Nick Saban is your favorite college football coach.
Take your $50 donation and the season tickets daddy renews for you every year and shove them up your ass. You are the worst kind of fan in sports, the manchild who thinks they are entitled to a winner, but really don't know anything at all about what it takes to be a winner.

Way to cop out. Personal attacks and vitriol ? What are you imagining? LOL, are you really whining about personal attacks after you personally attacked Riley and OSU fans?

'We’re beyond the point of arguing whether three years is enough for a coach, or whether Mike Riley had enough talent to win a conference championship. The bigger problem is that Nebraska keeps losing to teams with lesser talent, and then looks disinterested in trying to compete with teams with better talent. Talent on the field isn’t the biggest problem with Nebraska. (Compare that to the carnage Iowa imposed on Ohio State on Saturday if you want evidence that the game of football isn’t just a battle of “Jimmies and Joes”.) Talent matters, yes. But so does development and coaching, and Nebraska has regressed in just about every area the last three seasons' . I guess I am off base and you critics have it all right. Again, Could care less about the tough Internet crowd. Blast away.. but please concentrate on what I am saying and why ? Otherwise, like your life, all you will get is a 'participation trophy' Congratulations though? You have earned 'average' and belief in mediocrity !

Make up your own mind.. again, I could care less what anyone else says about me or my posts. The point which most of you are missing is that if we do not look to the future... you are doomed to repeat the past , The ONLY past I want to to repeat is Erickson's magical season. Every team in the PAC 12 has upgraded their programs - except OSU ! Why do we have to be bottom feeders ? Last in the Conference, Last in recruiting, Last in attendance, Bottom 10 Nationally.... I guess that is what you guys admire ! Given the comments on here - I see absolutely no hope at getting on track.

Actually your posts make you look exactly the opposite... take my money and run. Hint PC would have been fired after about year 6 at any school where baseball mattered. Situation or not SR was a big loser at first and NO one could have predicted his success. Hence you only bring up current "winners"... and are more uck in your front running bandwagon posting. Again... keep "not caring" lol

Perhaps shelby’s rant was crossing the line but to say he is giving “his heart and soul” is a misnomer. If that was true, the Husker team would not be the mess that it is! Seriously? Coaches can't give their heart and soul to their job and still fail? Do you even pay attention to football? Any sport?
The noose is tightening around MR’s neck down there. Look at his demeanor on the sideline. Look at the the way the Husker players are doing on the field. Their intensity is lacking. Making dumb mistakes. Not disciplined. MR looks like a guy checked out. Much like his final year in Corvallis. That is definitely NOT a coach pouring their heart and soul into it.
