That's the dumbest analogy in the history of the interwebs.
You just compared college coaches, or all coaches, to an industry that wins 99.99% of the time. Guess what, 11 NFL coaches are going to lose today. How many airplanes do you think are going to crash? Then you jock Pat Casey? LOL, let me guess, Nick Saban is your favorite college football coach.
Take your $50 donation and the season tickets daddy renews for you every year and shove them up your ass. You are the worst kind of fan in sports, the manchild who thinks they are entitled to a winner, but really don't know anything at all about what it takes to be a winner.
And... nope... you said it all 😁 Hey slo pitch 7-11 - Let me be kind to you and your errant personal likes. All I ask is that you look up the word and examples for analogy. Then, and only then will you realize that what I raised was hypothetical - not an analogy, which you very improperly went on to attempt to support . I apologize for you... have a nice day !

Perhaps shelby’s rant was crossing the line but to say he is giving “his heart and soul” is a misnomer. If that was true, the Husker team would not be the mess that it is! Seriously? Coaches can't give their heart and soul to their job and still fail? Do you even pay attention to football? Any sport?
I agree. I also agree with korcula that the noose is tightening. Too bad. All the ingredients are there. Lackluster season (T Lee another pick six!), can't run the ball, new AD, Frost in the rise. But just to point out to the folks that act like they lost to a doormat, NW was coming off back to back wins over Michigan St and Iowa. Who did those guys beat this week? Nebraska fans will be forever disappointed if they think they'll get 11 wins per year in this day and age.

Like I said earlier, I've never thought Riley was that great of a HC, I used to argue all the time at BFC that if he went to USC, he'd fail miserably as he has at Nebraska. He's a better fit at a small school like OSU, or even lower, and he's probably even a better fit as a coordinator or position coach in the NFL.
That's just my opinion, but again, that's an X's and O's and motiving the Joes thing. No matter how you feel about his coaching ability, there is no reason to disrespect him as a person. I'll defend his integrity, honor, and passion for coaching always. He is a wholly decent human being, not nearly enough of those on this planet.

Please advise me where I attacked his character ? I posted one Nebraska newspaper item and I challenged his coaching abilities as well as his apparent lack of interest in changing his approach to coaching. He can still be a good guy and a horrible coach...

Whoa! I said I agree! With the referenced post that is.

It is too bad. I wanted him to succeed! And as for your silly darts you tossed at me: 1) yes, I do observe sports. Unnecessary statement by you. 2) what do vampires or peanut butter have to do with my username. Korcula is a small beautiful town on an island off the Dalmatian Coast of Croatia. You can always Google a word if you are not certain what it means 😉

IMO that is a direct shot at his integrity. The very foundation of his character.
Perhaps you didn't intend it that way, and I apologize if so. Mike Riley surely has awkward body language. He's just sort of an awkward guy, in a leave it to beaver 1950's sort of way. But I guarantee you he has not checked out, he is 100% invested, and he's probably extremely stressed and bummed out about what has happened. He's not a quitter.
BTW, most of my posts weren't directed at you, just that one specific comment.

Mike is a good guy but he knows the name of the game and how unforgiving it is. He's also a millionaire many times over. I'm sure losing is hard for him, but he's had a pretty amazing life.
