Yeah, you really can't start Gebbia when he received no snaps at all vs Hawaii. Would be strange anyway. Unless... Luton was under the weather and tried to play through it, he never really looked right. At first I thought it was the feed just not real tight. But, it was his worse game as far as command, presence, reads, and touch. And, really we do have other quality WR... hope someone starts including them. Wait, so this week we beat on Luton instead of Tibesaurus Less? Seems like the game plan!

In a shocking development, this confirms that after a bad performance the fans want to see the backup Qb replace the starter. Groundbreaking stuff!!

Luton was bad. Bad game in relation to all evidence we've seen when he's healthy. I stated he should start unless he was/is under the weather. "Tibsaurus Less"... has never been good. Holding Hawaii to 31, ~400 yds passing isn't good, but may be close to as well as his D has done since the 2nd half at Colorado.

Colorado dislikes this post. And Hawaii Likes it. I get the point, although the premise is incorrect, unless logic is reduced to a single game sample.

If there is minimal difference between the two, and Gebbia has the edge in mobility, Gebbia it is. Luton is simply awful on the move.
If OSU was 2 and 1 after OOC play and had a long shot to make a bowl game, stick with Luton. That's not the case, time to make the move, let Gebbia get his feet wet before Pac 12 play.
Luton has a big arm, and made some really nice throws yesterday. His receivers dropped at least 4 I can think of. Togia is useless IMO, get the kids in. But when it mattered most Luton missed throws and/or made bad decisions. And just about every time he had to move out of the pocket he was way off.
Go with Gebbia, get him the experience necessary to make a bowl run next year.

Yes we agree he wasn't good in the second half but he should start. The groupthink seems to be painting a target on his back. Jake Luton wasn't the reason Hawaii won.

Sometimes qb’s just don’t have it. I think a change to Gebbia in the 4th would have been ok. A spark, different look, etc. you could have done that and easily said Luton is still the starter after the game. Now it’s tougher.

Luton may not have been the reason Hawaii won but he was likely the reason the beavs lost in order of magnitude: penalties. bad go for its (coaching decision) 2cnd half play calls secondary blown coverages missed a long fg attempt reciever drops Luton innacuracy

And completely turned the game around at the beginning of the second half. The very next possession we drive the field only to have the drive stall in FG range on a holding penalty that no one got to see (thanks FB). Agreed. Those penalties did more to submarine our chances than anything else in the game. That said, Jake missed a bunch of throws. Why not give Gebbia some time?

If you ask me, the only reason JS didn't probably make a change late in the game is that we were within a shot of winning the entire game. There's worse options than a close loss. Image if he had put Gebbia in early in the 4th and he threw a couple pick-six and a close game turned into a laugher. Benny's House would be demanding Niner's head on a platter! I'll be shocked if Gebbia doesn't see the field against CalPoly. Should be a blow out anyway.
