Can-o-crappo will print anything and everything said or sent to him. I've never had any love for the ducks or their players or coaches but when Can-o-crappo blogged a few years back about the exact details of his encounter with a drunken and angry Colleen Bellotti, it was not Mrs. Bellotti that I was disgusted by. It was the "reporter" who seemed to feel that nothing is private. I would think that if GA really did send these texts to Can-o-crappo that he did not intend for them to become public. That was GA's bad judgement if that's the case. He could have asked anyone and they would have told him that Can-o-crappo is an untrustworthy ratings whore. His encounter with Mrs. Bellotti was in the Autzen press box, a public place, in front of other people. She is fair game at that point. There is no expectation of privacy if you confront someone in a public place. These texts are different. Andersen probably had an expectation of privacy, that the texts were being used as deep background and context. Lesson learned here. Once the text is sent, it becomes the property of the recipient. Anyone trusting Canzano is a fool. Gary should have known better, this wasn't his first rodeo. Any text from a public employee is accessible to the public under the Freedom of Information Act. Maybe Canzanno knew someone had a request in for the text messages.

I wondered if Andersen already signed away his $12 million. If he did not sign a contract amendment, he should probably take some for early retirement.

That there were also texts that he did not want Canzano to share (and presumably Canzano did and is planning to in the future honor that request).

Assuming these texts are real (I'm still having trouble believing that), that right there is a guy who doesn't have the mental fortitude or maturity to be a big-time college head coach. Good grief. Oh, and my nickname "Mr. Intangibles" is very apt. In those messages, I see a lot of fight, a lot of grit, a lot of toughness, a lot of intensity...but what I don't see is anything that even hints that Andersen knows how to coach a team through its troubles. Just keep grinding. That's it! That's all he's got! Jeezus... With this invasion of personal confidence, Canzano is going to turn public opinion against our assistants (and therefore make it even hard for them to have some success the rest of the year; thanks you POS), but now I'm left wondering if some assistants were also frustrated at the personnel and offensive decisions in the off-season, and felt like they were doing their job while hogtied. That Andersen can't see the folly of throwing everything away after last year, makes me take all his opinions of what's wrong this year with a grain of salt. The guy is just clueless... it's a great day to be a beaver!

Why in the world is Andersen texting clownzano at all?? And in such an unprofessional, talking to my wife or therapist manner??? Also, why would clownzano print it?!?! So all private communication to a reporter is printable now? Did he get Andersen's permission? From the article: " (Note: Andersen was aware the texts were going to be published and we communicated on that front today.)"

That quote from the article doesn't, in any way, imply that GA gave Clownzano permission to publish the texts. I read it as, "hey I'm publishing the texts one way or another, and we have just communicated on this issue." How else to interpret a JC article?

So all private communication to a reporter is printable now? Did he get Andersen's permission? May God have mercy on both your wife and therapist. Canzano told a story on the radio the other day. He was having a meal with his family at a restaurant when some guy came up to his table with a note he had written to him and dropped in his food, said "I hope you choke on your food", and left for the restroom locking the door behind him. Canzano followed him and stood outside the restroom door. After 5 or 10 minutes the man came out "looking sheepish", and returned to his table. Canzano walked up to the table and told this man's table guests, "This is not your fault, but if he were alone I would flip this table." Not sure what was in the note, but being in the public eye writing and speaking your views can make you a target of every knob who objects to your opinions. Sometimes I disagree with what his take is on certain events, but since he seems to be the best source to give us a look into backspace of athletics, I appreciate him. It turns out Andersen may not have lost the team as much as he had some of his coaches, or, perhaps more accurately, they lost him. Not that this has anything to do with OSU football, but the idea that Canzano would "flip" anybody's table is beyond laughable. It would never happen, but if he hinted at doing any such thing to me, I would laugh in his face and say "Go ahead and try it, you short, pudgy, middle-aged doughboy." Can't think of anyone less physically intimidating. Nice story, John.

I am glad clonzano got permission... I am still baffled Andersen gave it, or wrote him the texts in the first place... He must really not want to ever coach football ever again... He seems like some prozac and a smidge of lithium might do him some good...

Clearly was frustrated by the hires he made at OC and DC, which didn't appear to change as time went by. Also helps explain why neither coordinator was asked to become the interim HC. They must know they're out of a job soon, so I wonder how vested they'll be in the team (and recruiting) over the next few weeks. I think it says a lot that we have two coordinators who didn't get the interim gig nor did one of our assistants that has previous HC experience.. for a cornerbacks (not even secondary) coach who was a grad assistant in 2015. yikes. Says a s%#t ton!
If you told me a grad asst would be the HC in just a few years I'd never believe it.

Opinion: Canzano is hack journalist. An opinionated, arrogant and unprofessional reporter that has no moral or ethical compass. An idiot in Fresno, an idiot in San Jose and a blithering idiot in Portland.
A tabloid style sportswriter and gossip columnist paid to pedal newspapers.
