Wait I gotta know this, are there actually Beaver fans that would prefer Beau Baldwin as HC over Les Miles?

Les Miles went 3-7 vs. Nick Saban, losing the last five times in a row. Don't want a coach who can't figure out how to beat his rival. Les Miles had a better winning percentage at LSU than Saban did. That whole gotta beat your rival thing is dumb unless your rival is a worse team.

This is how you feel about Riley losing all those Civil War games then right? I know it’s how I feel. Now, if Riley was losing to Saban, different story. Sorry, I was being sarcastic, pointing out the folly in people bashing Riley for losing seven in a row to the Ducks, saying that if he couldn't beat them, he needed to go. from 2007-2014, Oregon was 89-18. During that same time frame, Alabama was 91-17. Chip Kelly was Nick Saban.

Les Miles is 63, this would surely be his last gig. Baldwin wouldn't stay long in Corvallis if he turned it around.
Can't believe Miles is older than Tedford, Tedford looks 10 years older.

Not having West coast ties would be a big concern. But it would be a Curt Gibson HR! Is he related to Kirk Gibson? Better him than Curt Blefary

He is a great coach, no doubt. I will also say (through his recruiting efforts, he had some incredible trench players), and a great surrounding area for recruiting! Can he do the same in the PAC 12, West Coast, in a conference where your offense needs to be able to consistently put up about 30 pts a game to compete? Would he be able to recruit those great O and D Lineman here consistently to Oregon State? I don't know but I have my doubts. It's an intriguing and exciting thought, however these two leagues, schools and regions of the country are completely different! He certainly could bring in some good coordinators and assistants I'd bet though. I'm not as sold on him but it's interesting!
Go Beavs!

I find no instances of Les Miles using the phrase "big boy pants."
I'm in.

Who was the last college HC to get fired for on-field results that went on to succeed when given a 2nd chance? I can think of plenty of flops, but the last retread to win a major conference championship was apparently Gene Stallings at Bama in 1992.

Sarcasm I hope (Edit... posted before seeing your retort)... if not... WTF... cuz Bama = ucks? ? Ya... not! Does any current Pac12 coach have 1 W over Saban? ANYONE who would want ANY of the other candidates mentioned on this board over Les is absolutely out to lunch. Most of those same people loved the DE years yet Les is not capable of coaching at OSU?? Really? As I said... unless he wants to break the bank, he'd check EVERY box necessary to turn the tide here at OSU... and quickly.

Not a fan of Miles, I think his best days are behind him. Erickson was only 52 when he took the OSU job, Miles is 64. His best year at OK State was 9-4, a school with more resources than OSU. It's difficult to assess his LSU years since recruiting is much easier there, but his last 2.5 years before he was fired mid-season he was 19-10, so he clearly lost some of the mojo. Miles' cringe-worthy broadcasting commentary this season doesn't do him any favors. Openly rooting for Nebraska on-air because his son is on the team was tacky and bush league. More importantly, he doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed. I wouldn't place the future of Beaver football in his hands. I'd take Tedford or Baldwin over him.

Oklahoma State did not have great resources when Miles was there. Oklahoma State can thank Boone Pickens for that and that was after Les Miles left.
