He could immediately be moved to the front of the line.

Don't you actually have to die without a will to be "intestate"?

I think that would be a great hire for OSU. Solid coach, good recruiting background and from what I've read players love playing for him.
That being said his offenses at LSU were ahem....boring, is a kind word. He'd have to seriously loosen the reigns on the offense to compete in the Pac12 or he'd have to have a lights out defense.
When GA left he was always one I thought OSU should pursue. Of course this wouldn't surprise me that he's expressing an interest to get some interest drummed up for the Ole Miss job....

IF he's truly interested, and doesn't want to break our bank he also gives us NATIONAL exposure, NATIONAL recruiting name recognition, and NATIONAL credibility to hire staff.

I pointed out in another thread is a great job for a seasoned coach who is at the stage in his career where he just wants to coach. Great community, campus, location, with extremely low pressure and media spotlight relative to a big program like LSU.
Would not surprise me one bit to find out MR has talked up the program to Les as well. Les's son was recruited by MR and chose Nebraska. Not to change the subject, but kind of tells you something when so many coaches send their son's to play for MR.
With the right OC, Miles could be the perfect figure head for a program in need of an identity and stability.

Second coming of DE? Could be cool if it happens

I think he's a great coach, but like many, has skeletons in his closet, and not just during Halloween.

Of the HC openings right now, I think OSU or Ole Miss would be the ones with the inclination to hire him. Ole Miss advantage is they are in the SEC, where he obviously has the most experience. They also have sanctions looming over them, to include self-inflicted scholarship sanctions to the tune of 15 over 4 years. Advantage OSU if I were a 64 year old coach. Tennessee and Florida aren’t going to hire him.
Les has said in two different interviews that he wants to play for a President and AD who are committed to winning championships. If we somehow land him, it will be because Ray and Barnes convinced him of their commitment.
He has acknowledged his offensive shortcomings. I would be excited if this went through. Instant credibility, and the rest of the conference would be worried. He would be one hell of a fundraiser too.

Second coming of DE? Could be cool if it happens DE inherited an OSU program on a decided UPSWING. Riley had all the parts in place for success. Whomever "inherits" this thing won't enjoy the same blessings. Miles is intriguing, though. Not sure he knows a damn thing about the west coast. But, football? Yup.

I think he's a great coach, but like many, has skeletons in his closet, and not just during Halloween. Probably more the exception than the rule, unfortunately, in the big time college football coaches circles. I will say that I would be 100% behind him as our next coach if he really was interested in coming!

Not having West coast ties would be a big concern. But it would be a Curt Gibson HR!
