We had paid Hall Monitors/Campus Security at my high school. Like where you go when you are demoted from Mall Cop.

ROTFLMAO... now that was just funny PS- ever picker to be a Hall Monitor??? It is like the worse thing that can happen... damned if you do damned if you don't "monitor". Was a real power trip for some! Ahhhh good memories You went to a school that had student hall monitors? I thought they were a myth, in all my years as a student and teacher I've never actually been in a school that had them. It was bogus... staff though it was some kind of privilege for us... was effing embarrassing and put you in an awkward position. But, not like a lot of 6th-9th graders did much without a hall pass. Typically it was because a teacher was too lazy to write one... You also had to help monitor the lunch room... duty was a week long. But, you soon learned that you'd not be considered stellar hall monitor material if you pulled a few shenanigans...

Would have made your life miserable.

I was in Reno for Erickson's first game and I am planning to be in Reno with the wife and kids this fall. It will be my kids first OSU game. They are already excited for the trip.

There is no way in hell I am going to take my kids to Circus Circus. Way to many perverts trolling for kids. Security just turns a blind eye to them.

Would you consider a 17-7 halftime score and a 35-17 final score as an ass-kicking? Just curious. Nope but if they give that kind of performance than I would consider a wasted opportunity to actually get a win because if they give that kind of performance than they are good enough to win 3-4 conference games and playing Ohio State may be the difference between going bowling and not going bowling. There is just no upside to the game (barring a miracle and winning and if they do that I will gladly eat all the crow in the world) Agree with you youngorst. I think all you keep saying is "you can disagree with me, but if you ridicule my position I will explain it again and it is not changing." I am okay with us attempting to prove our mettle in Columbus if that is what the team wants. I personally think the best decision is to back out. A schedule change is quickly forgotten. A 3.5 hour humiliation on national TV is painful for fans, coaches and players. If you do not believe me just recall your feelings of our last game. The final 2 thoughts are if you want to become a elite team then schedule like them and most of them schedule soft. The bigger issue of the Ohio State game,to me, is they are coming to our place to play. Elite teams do not schedule that way.

Planning a trip to Reno next year? I didn't even realize Reno was on the schedule. This is awesome. In the last 5 days I moved to Reno, found out the guy I'm renting the house from is an OSU alum, walk over to Starbucks the first morning I'm here at 6 am and the only other customer in the store has a beaver sweatshirt on. Then OSU hires Smith, Beaver unity in full effect, and now I find out I only have to drive 5 minutes to see my favorite college team. Here's the kicker, I haven't noticed one single Duck shirt, hat, bumpersticker, or license plate yet. It's been a damn good week to be a beaver fan.

You can thank Riley for the games. BDC was on the radio the other day talking about how he had to talk Riley out of more of those games.

At the least this thread made a partial return to the original subject - will you attend the Reno game.
I too went to the Reno game in Erickson's first season. We had a caravan of three cars that made a beautiful drive through the mountains and I was driving my Datsun 2000 Roadster and averaged about 90 from Sisters down to Reno and it was a BLAST.
Got to the Silver Legacy and it was an absolute sea of orange. The game was a great victory that included multiple fights breaking out in the stands while watching the teams play on a field that looked like it hadn't been maintained in years. Got back to the Silver Legacy after the game and the sea of orange returned and partied into the night. I got a picture of myself with Dee Andros laying around somewhere for the evening.
Without a doubt the best Beaver game road trip I have ever done and I'll be seriously considering a return visit next year with a new coach once again. It's a great day to be a Beaver !!!

Look, this is what he does. He did it on Scout too. He argues like a dog with a bone, rarely conceding another's point. Like political wingnuts, he will not be swayed. I'd love not to read the back and forth. But I do want to see others' opinions. When the thread is five pages and half of it is him trying to pound other posters -- who may not agree with him -- into submission, it's difficult to get to those other points of view. Dude. Give it a rest, we don't need a hall monitor in addition to the mods that are already monitoring content. I swear, half your posts are just chiming in to tell people to stop talking about something. Go find a crosswalk to patrol for Christ's sake. OA - The voice of reason! Prior to the JS hiring I was hoping they were looking at you to take the reins!

Agree with everything you said - although I averaged no where near 90 mph. My Dad and I were sitting near Marty Maurer's uncles and they had a memorable celebration on Marty's 60 (?) yard scamper down the sideline. On the day I die, I'll still remember the OOOSSSUUUU chants in the pit at the Silver Legacy.
