Leaving out details that never need to be made public and happy that my Ex has a terrible memory...
I remember... walking up the hill to the stadium from downtown, drinking from pints... I remember being happy for hard liquor sales in the stadium... I remember multiple alcoholic beverages being purchased... I remember fights around us and in other parts of the stadium... sort of remember a fan in the far endzone upper level hanging off... I remember the dusty field... I remember "the" TD...
I DON'T remember taking my shirt off... don't remember much until winning enough on a slot to pay for the trip... don't remember if it was used to actually offset the trip... don't remember going to bed...
I do remember waking up... I remember trying to decide if the pain of my hangover minimized the pain of my severely sun burned chest or visa versa.
I do remember being a very uncomfortable and unhappy camper the trip home despite the W. Ah... good times
PS- is be dead if I repeated that trip today!

Look, this is what he does. He did it on Scout too. He argues like a dog with a bone, rarely conceding another's point. Like political wingnuts, he will not be swayed. I'd love not to read the back and forth. But I do want to see others' opinions. When the thread is five pages and half of it is him trying to pound other posters -- who may not agree with him -- into submission, it's difficult to get to those other points of view. Dude. Give it a rest, we don't need a hall monitor in addition to the mods that are already monitoring content. I swear, half your posts are just chiming in to tell people to stop talking about something. Go find a crosswalk to patrol for Christ's sake. Actually, that represents less than a quarter. Half of my posts aren't made because others have made my point. I don't feel the need to clutter the Board with unnecessary posts. I'm glad the mods are monitoring. It's no substitute for self-policing which some people -- who shall remain unidentified [not you, of course. I've always enjoyed the insight that you provide] -- don't seem to do.

I'll post how and what I like, your opinion about my posting habits means exactly nothing to me. If you don't like it, you can block me and not see my posts. Its not that hard.

At the least this thread made a partial return to the original subject - will you attend the Reno game. I too went to the Reno game in Erickson's first season. We had a caravan of three cars that made a beautiful drive through the mountains and I was driving my Datsun 2000 Roadster and averaged about 90 from Sisters down to Reno and it was a BLAST. Got to the Silver Legacy and it was an absolute sea of orange. The game was a great victory that included multiple fights breaking out in the stands while watching the teams play on a field that looked like it hadn't been maintained in years. Got back to the Silver Legacy after the game and the sea of orange returned and partied into the night. I got a picture of myself with Dee Andros laying around somewhere for the evening. Without a doubt the best Beaver game road trip I have ever done and I'll be seriously considering a return visit next year with a new coach once again. It's a great day to be a Beaver !!! Agree with everything you said - although I averaged no where near 90 mph. My Dad and I were sitting near Marty Maurer's uncles and they had a memorable celebration on Marty's 60 (?) yard scamper down the sideline. On the day I die, I'll still remember the OOOSSSUUUU chants in the pit at the Silver Legacy. 74-yard touchdown pass with 14:01 left in the fourth quarter, putting Oregon State on top for good. The game was very close. The Beavers let the Wolfpack hang around well into the fourth quarter, only putting the game away with Simonton's third touchdown with 24 seconds left. Oregon State is 3-0 against Nevada all-time. The Beavers' 1999 visit is Oregon State's only foray to Reno.

Worst excuse for a grass playing field I've ever seen at a D1 football stadium - by far. Looked like a bad municipal driving range. 3. Mike Fessler punting out of the back of the end zone and getting a full beer poured on his head. 4. Fisticuffs in the end zone grandstands. Haymakers galore. Stadium security presence - inadequate. 5. James Allen ending the CFB career of Nevada's all-WAC TE with a devastating follow-through hit.
